Easy Russian for English Speakers – results focused audio training, designed specifically for English Speakers learning Russian.  The concept of audio training in foreign language courses is not new.  Audio training tapes played an important role in foreign language education for many years.  In the past however, such learning required chunky record players or cassette players, not to mention the contents requiring long sessions in specialist language centres.  The first release of Easy Russian CD exceeded all expectations. Training is delivered in the form of audio book where tutor explains all important language concepts ad elements in English, followed by practice session where native Russian speakers present small portions of new vocabulary.  Real live speech and cultural content including etiquette, traditions, literature and even such concepts as the Russian soul made Easy Russian stand out from the crowd.

“These audio lessons jumped right into learning the language and moved briskly. I also enjoyed the structure of the lessons and their thematic organization.”, wrote Kara Schimmelfing in USA.  “Great CD. Easy to pick up on Russian words pronunciation and also a little bit about Russian culture and the background behind certain phrases. Really interesting and informative.”, commented another reviewer, Sara Georgieff from Canada :: More reviews ::

The second volume planned for release in September 2010 is promising to be even more exciting and more potent instalment of Easy Russian training.  In the second volume, Max Bollinger, the author who speaks both Russian and English fluently is aiming to show English speakers many similarities between the two languages.  “Russian is part of the same European family of languages as English, so you might as well take advantage of this”, wrote Max Bollinger in his introductory note to his latest release.

The second volume is subtitled: “Speak Russian Like a Russian; Fly on a Russian Spaceship; Talk about planet Earth and listen to Yuri Gagarin, William Shakespeare and Anton Chekhov in Russian” and is offering students both the necessary vocabulary, grammar and a real opportunity to hear and understand live speech of Yuri Gagarin talking about his historic flight into space.  Masterpieces of Chekhov and Shakespeare are also deployed in this content rich audio training course.  And if that wasn’t enough, listeners will meet a very Russian fire-emitting dragon character named Zmei Gorynych.

Easy Russian for English Speakers Vol.2: Speak Russian Like a Russian; Fly on a Russian Spaceship; Talk about planet Earth and listen to Yuri Gagarin, William Shakespeare and Anton Chekhov in Russian. ISBN: 9780956116581.  Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk will be among the first retailers to offer this new release to its international customers.

Max Bollinger about Easy Russian for English Speakers:

“My inspiration to produce this Easy Russian training course is not only based on my experiences of making English language audio training. I am a native speaker of Russian language myself. In my fairly long professional career in England, I have been asked by both my friends and colleagues on many occasions to help them with various aspects of communication in Russian language. In all these cases, requests would be accompanied by long explanation of how difficult it is to learn Russian and how little is available on the market to address the issue.  Initially, this surprised me a lot, given that I could see many commercial and academic courses on the market offering tuition. When I did look into available courses, I soon discovered that many such courses were often based on outdated material, presented the language from an academic and often overly complicated angle, or on the other end of the spectrum, offered nothing more than primitive dictionary or phrase book, which  did not provide any appropriate context or correct phraseology for those in need of either quick fix or something less demanding than a full time course requiring attendance in class rooms or a software package requiring a degree in computer science and serious financial investment”

“When I learned English, I discovered that my teacher wasn’t only teaching us the language itself.  He would bring English literature, music, talk about English culture and this made a huge difference for all his students.  I would very much like to do the same with Easy Russian. In the first volume I included fragments of Pushkin poetry, important cultural concepts such as the Russian Soul and some basic informal and business etiquette.  The second volume includes live speech of Yuri Gagarin, Chekhov story in the original and even Shakespeare in Russian”
